Cole Transportation Museum

State of Maine Monument to World War II.
It is an exact bronze casting of the Museum's WWII Willys Jeep. The Jeep's driver is the sculptured likeness of Charlie Flanagan killed in WWII and Galen's Cole's best boyhood friend. The monument was constructed and dedicated as the Maine State World War II Memorial by Gov. Angus King on October 11, 1997.

Vietnam Memorial: Three Bronze Statues
Galen Cole with the help of his son, Gary Cole, found Maine residents Glen and Diane Hines who were commissioned to create this three person sculpture of a wounded soldier being assisted by another soldier and a nurse. The soldier on the left was modeled in the image of Eric Wardwell who was killed in action. It was dedicated May 31, 2004.

Huey Helicopter UH-1D Vietnam Memorial

This Huey Helicopter was found at Patrick Air Force Base in Florida and served in Vietnam during the war. At one time is suffered a crash landing but was recovered and placed back into service. It was placed on September 12, 2003.

Vietnam Memorial: M-60 Tank
This tank was a dream of Galen Cole which became a reality. This Vietnam Era tank was erected with the help of the Maine Army National Guard who helped mount it in 1999.

Portland Steamer. The museums oldest fire engine, a 1907 Amoskeg fire pumper originally pulled by horses. In 1924 a Christie tractor replaced the horses. At full steam this pumper can pump over 1,100 gallons a minute.
