Queen Victoria Statue
Bronze, on a red Aberdeen granite base
At the foot of Castle Hill, Windsor
The statue was commissioned for this prominent position as part of the
Queen's Golden Jubilee celebrations. It was paid for by public
subscription, and unveiled with much pomp and ceremony on 22 June
1887, with the Queen herself in attendance. A canopy was erected over the
statue for the Diamond Jubilee.
