Rev. Skarga's Column across the street from Church of St Peter and St Paul.

Rev. Skarga was a jesuit preacher in 15-16th centuries, living in Krakow, serving king Sigmund III Waza. He was one of the most important exponents of Polish couter-reformation, a great orator, an opponent of intolerance which in his opinion was one of the sources of political crisises at the times he lived.
