Arthur Fiedler Memorial

Arthur Fiedler Memorial

The Arthur Fiedler Memorial, designed by sculptor Ralph Helmick and architect Jim Falck, was dedicated along the Charles River Esplanade on June 30, 1984. The 6½-foot monumental head of Arthur Fiedler, the long-time conductor of the Boston Pops Orchestra, is crafted from eighty-three layers of thin sand-blasted aluminum plates. The sculpture cost $150,000 and was made possible by donations from individuals and corporations.
