United Nuclear RAD-1 "Quartex" Geiger Counter

Here's a great deal on a very sensitive geiger counter.

Perfect for measuring common sources of radiation, this unit is compact and contains modern digital electronics.

The RAD-1 "beeps" and "clicks" on exposure to radiation and also flashes an indicator on the large L.E.D. display.

About every 30 seconds, it pauses and displays a short term and a long term average radiation count... then goes back into real-time monitoring mode. These are great handheld detectors, but are not really the choice for prospecting. Although they can be used for prospecting, the display is easily overloaded by moderately radioactive ores and you'll just get an "over range" reading.

The RDA-1 is very useful at detecting low levels of radiation and providing an accurate numerical average.

* Geiger-Mueller detector measures both Gamma and Beta radiation.
* Modern, all digital circuitry.
* Easy to read L.E.D. display.
* Provides a short & long term numerical average every 35 seconds
* Compact size: 2-5/16" wide x 5-3/4" long x 1" thick.
* Gamma energy detection range: 60 Kev - 1.25 Mev.
* Operating temperature range: -49 to +131 degrees F.
* Great for measuring all common sources of radiation
