Klementinum

Klementinum
Klementinum in Prague is the largest, and one of the most
historic complex of buildings in the Old Town.
Founded in 1232, Klementinum covers over 2 hectares and has
enjoyed a rich architectural evolution. Many of Europe's great
astronomers, scientists, musicians and philosophers have worked here,
influencing the development of this wonderful array of buildings.
Mirror Chapel: a beautiful chapel built in 1724, with extensive
frescos and carvings. Houses two 18th century organs, one of which was
played by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart on his visits to the Klementinum.
Baroque Library Hall: a stunning room and home to the Czech
National Library. Houses 20,000 books, some dating back to the 16th
century.
Astronomical Tower: 172 steps lead to the top of the tower for
amazing 360° views over Prague. The climb is steep, so not for the
very elderly or disabled.
