First Baptist Church
140 Laurier Avenue, West

The present Church edifice was designed by Architect James Mather in the Gothic Revival Style. Construction began in the spring of 1877, and by midsummer, the foundation walls were ready for the laying of the cornerstone. Worship services were held in the lower hall until Sunday, September 29, 1878, when the church was officially opened.
