St. Mary's Church Complex
St. Mary's Parish was founded in 1826 and is the oldest
Parish in the Diocese of Providence.
St. Mary's Church Complex is a historic Roman Catholic
church 14 William Street (Spring Street/Memorial Boulevard)
in Newport, Rhode Island.
The parish congregation was founded in 1828. The
current church building was constructed in 1848 by Patrick
C. Keely. In 1953 Senator John F. Kennedy and Jacqueline
Bouvier were married at St. Mary's. The church was added to
the National Register of Historic Places in 2008.
