Kofukuji Temple

Kofukuji Temple (Shinto). It was founded in 710AD (ji = temple) as the family temple of Fujiwaras, the second most powerful clan after the imperial family. Originally, there were 175 buildings were on the temple grounds. Of the few that remain, all of them were rebuilt after the 13th century.
