Halifax Citadel
Constructed between 1828 and 1856, the fourth Citadel is a fine
example of a bastioned fort of the 'smooth bore' era. Interesting
features include the Citadel's star-shaped design, the vaulted rooms,
the dry defensive ditch, the musketry gallery, restoration of the
ramparts, and the view of Halifax and its harbour.
