Friendship Tall Ship |
|
The Friendship of Salem is a 171-foot replica of a 1797 East
Indiaman, built in the Scarano Brothers Shipyard in Albany, New York,
in 2000. The ship usually functions as a stationary museum during most
of the year, however the ship is a fully functioning United States
Coast Guard certified vessel capable of passenger and crew voyages,
and will set sail during various times of the year. The first American
National Historic Site is run by the National Park Service and is the
Salem Maritime National Historic Site, this is where the Friendship of
Salem is docked.
